Abstract

A compensation of motion error based on the result of measurement of tool tip motion provides improvement of motion accuracy of feed drive system for NC machine tools. Considering that position reference changes time by time during continuous path control, however, compensated result of the actual position becomes different from the compensating command because of delayed servo response. In this research, a control method that consists of a two-degrees-of freedom control structure and a compensator for the error of the tool tip motion according to the servo response is proposed. A numerical simulation is carried out to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control method.
